FAQs
HOW DO I BOOK MY SESSION?
Once a date, time and location has been decided on, a contract will be sent out. A 30% deposit, along with signed contract will be due back within one week of receiving to officially hold your date and price.
HOW DO I BOOK MY WEDDING WITH YOU?
I always encourage couples to meet up in person with me to discuss their wedding day. If meeting up in person is not possible, I am available for a phone call or Facetime. Once we chat about your wedding, I can put together contract options that best suit your big day. After you choose the contract that best fits, you will sign and send back with a 30% deposit. This will hold the day and pricing for you.
WHAT TYPES OF PAYMENT DO YOU TAKE?
Cash, check or an online payment through PayPal is accepted.
IF WE CANCEL OUR BOOKING WILL WE RECEIVE OUR DEPOSIT BACK?
In case you cancel you will not receive your deposit back. This covers any loss in the form of lost bookings and eventual cost already arisen before the actual session. However, we understand that unforeseen events can happen, so I try to work on alternatives if possible – e.g. find a new date for a session.
DO YOU OFFER LOCATION IDEAS?
I have a list of varying location ideas for your session from beaches, gardens, woods, farms or estate. I am a member of the Trustees of Reservations which allows access to many location spots. Of course, I am always open to finding new spots so if you have one in mind, I am all up for it!
WHEN DO I GET TO VIEW MY PHOTOS?
For any family/lifestyle/portrait session, please allow 2-3wks to receive and for weddings 12-16wks. All photos are displayed in your own online, password protected gallery. Galleries remain up for 30 days. I always post a sneak peek from a session on Facebook and Instagram to get you excited for all the other images that will be shared in your private gallery.
WHAT TYPE OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
I shoot with professional Nikon equipment, including full frame cameras, prime lenses as well as external lighting. I have multiple back-up cameras, lenses, memory cards, batteries and flashes in case something should not work as expected.
DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?
I have property and liability insurance
DO I GET ALL THE IMAGES FROM MY SESSION/WEDDING DAY?
I thoroughly go through all the images I take during a session/wedding and edit only the usable images to avoid sharing photos with you that are less than flattering. I also reduce the amount of duplicates so you can enjoy only the best of the best images. Please view session packaging info to see how many edited hi-resolution files you receive (always an option to add on more) via download with print release. With wedding photography, you will receive all hi-res images from that day on a custom USB with print release.
DO YOU BRING AN ASSISTANT?
For all weddings I always bring an assistant/second shooter with me. For some sessions I will bring along an assistant if I feel the session may require extra help (example: large portrait sessions or weather conditions).
WHAT IF IT IS RAINING DURING AN OUTDOOR SESSION OR DUE TO THE WEATHER? WHAT IF THERE IS NO SUNSET?
If the weather is potentially damaging to my equipment, we will be restricted to areas that I can safely shoot in or we can decide to move-up/postpone session start time to avoid poor weather and if necessary, we can always reschedule for a different day. I understand on a wedding day rain is not a favorable weather condition to have but it can allow for creative outdoor shots and I do my best to improvise and use indoor areas around venue. An overcast day creates even lighting without any shadows and can make for some beautiful, dramatic sky photos. Please note, that there are no refunds due to weather.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY SESSION/WEDDING DAY?
For a session, I can gladly give you helpful “what to wear” ideas that can be found here. when having a family session with small children, I always like to make sure their schedules are taken into account when selecting a start time. I want to make sure everyone is well rested, well-fed and keep the session low-key and a fun atmosphere that will bring out your child’s happiness, silliness and individuality.
If you have hired me to be your wedding photographer, we will start to plan the day of your engagement shoot. I always ask couples to put together a Pinterest board and share with me so I can see what photographs move you. I am a visual person so seeing other beautiful photographs inspires me and motivates me to push the envelope and bring that to your session.
On your wedding day I will send you a helpful list of how to prepare on the day of to make the getting ready portion of the day go seamlessly and less chaotic. Think more champagne and hang time with your girls and less running around trying to find essential items needed for the shots.
